Missionary
Alma Gordon, affectionately known as "Ma-Me", was a Christian
whose light shone like a million stars. Missionary Gordon served as
Chairlady of District #1 under the leadership of the late Supt. Jerry
Johnson and Missionary Stella Parker. She was appointed State Home and
Foreign Mission President by the late Bishop Lizard. She also served
as Missionary at Reimers-Gordon Temple where she was loved by the congregation.
She has served as a faithful worker in many departments of the church
and never ceased to work and sing Zion songs as one of her favorites"
If it Took it in those days it's Sure Gonna take it Now."
Missionary Gordon placed her body, mind, soul and possessions unhesitatingly
at God's disposal without any reservations. She provided lodging for
the saints in such a hospitable manner.
She was truly a missionary: her crowning virtue was her faithfulness
in testimony. Her life was an example to her church members, her family,
and all who knew her. She considered herself expendable for her people
and the cause of Christ.
She worked in love, wisdom, humility, with courage, patience, joy and
self-denial. Only God could have enable her to serve as she served.
